BRISTOL – A Bristol sex offender has admitted to violating his probation stemming from a sexual offense involving a minor.

Brian Joyce, 29, of 43 Gridley St., will be exposed to prison time when he is sentenced in New Britain Superior Court – which could happen as soon as his next scheduled appearance on Oct. 27.

The 29-year-old admitted to one count of violation of probation during a hearing last week. He is free on a promise to appear pending sentencing.

Joyce is serving probation after he was convicted in 2010 of risk of injury to a minor, involving contact with the intimate parts of a victim under 16.

According to the Sex Offender Registry, Joyce was convicted in March 2010 and released from prison in November 2012.

The registry on Thursday indicated Joyce was compliant with all of his requirements, which included verifying his Gridley Street address every 90 days. He last verified his address in late August.
