BRISTOL ‚Äď The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce are holding a ‚ÄúMember and Future Member Open House‚ÄĚ event Oct. 13.
The open house will be held at the Chamber’s office at The Executive Suites at 440 N. Main St. from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will afford visitors a chance to meet other Chamber members as well as the Chamber board and staff, learn about the benefits to joining the Chamber and ask questions.
Cindy Bombard, president and CEO of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, said the idea to hold an Open House was put forward by Andrew LaForge, membership development director. Invitations have been extended to all Chamber members.
‚ÄúWe figured it would be a great way for some of the newer members to meet other members and for existing members to bring in people who may want to join the Chamber,‚ÄĚ said Bombard. ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs a chance for people to see where we are located and for them to get to meet us and talk about some of the benefits of being part of the Chamber.‚ÄĚ
Bombard said the Chamber provides networking meet-ups, opportunities to learn how new legislation affects local businesses and events to help businesses get some exposure in the community.
‚ÄúOur philosophy is ‚Äėshop local, chamber first,‚Äô‚ÄĚ said Bombard. ‚ÄúOur members will often recommend other member businesses to one another. Our legislative committee also keeps our members informed about laws that will impact their business and provides opportunities to get involved. We have an upcoming program on fraud prevention, for which we will bring in members of the local police department and a speaker from the FBI‚Äôs fraud unit. We also have an upcoming Business Expo, which gives our members a chance to get out there in front of the public.‚ÄĚ
Refreshments will be served and there will be raffles for Chamber members and discounts for future members offered. Visitors are encouraged to bring their business cards for networking.
