Bristol police looking for Pit bull that attacked someone, had to be shot by officer

BRISTOL – Police are looking for a dog that had to be shot after it attacked someone.

The dog has been described as a brown Pit bull. Officers have encouraged individuals not to approach the animal if it is seen. Instead, they have been encouraged to contact police at 860-584-3011.

Police Friday morning said they responded to 77 French St. for a vicious dog complaint. The animal was actively attacking someone, according to police.

The dog was shot by an officer and took off from the scene. The extent of the injuries sustained is not clear to police.
