BRISTOL – A city man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor has been sentenced to probation.

Evan Caron, 19, faced sentencing on Thursday in New Britain Superior Court, where a judge gave him a fully suspended sentence.

Caron was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, and five years of probation. While on probation, a violation would expose him to the 10-year suspended portion of the sentence.

Caron previously pleaded guilty to charges of risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault. According to judicial records, the incident took place in Bristol in November 2019.

Court records also indicate the victim was either under 13 at the time or there was a gap of more than two years between Caron and the complainant.

Court records say Caron’s case has been pending since his arrest in December 2019. He has appeared on the docket more than 20 times since then.
