BRISTOL – Holiday Lights is returning to Lake Compounce this Friday, Nov. 26 beginning at 5 p.m. after a one-year hiatus.
On opening night, Lake Compounce will be hosting the World’s Largest Ugly Sweater Party. The park is on a mission to break the single-location sweater record of 3,473. Attendees must gather at the exit to Crocodile Cove Water Park at 7 p.m. to officially be part of the fun.
The party continues once the park opens, with more than half a million twinkling lights decking the halls around family favorite rides and attractions. New for 2022 is happening at the historic Starlight Theater for Once Upon a Christmas, an award-winning show coming to Lake Compounce for the first time.
“Holiday Lights will be brighter than ever thanks to our two brand-new live shows, delicious seasonal food and drinks and new special events each weekend,” said Marketing Director Amy Thomas. “There’s no better way to conclude our 175th birthday season than with a Holiday Lights celebration that will make the season sparkle for every visitor.”
New seasonal food and beverage items will include a Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich, spiked hot chocolate and themed sweets and unique activities throughout the season including carol-oke on the North Pole Express, Elf Boot Camp, cookie decorating and much more.
Other events include: Dec. 3-4: Toy Drive with Bristol Boys & Girls Club. Park goers that bring a new, unwrapped toy will receive free parking. Dec, 5 and 26: Pawliday Lights. Guests can bring a furry friend through this special event with Dog Star Rescue. Bring a donation such as food, toys or treats and receive free parking. Dec. 10-12: Artisan Craft Fair. Lake Compounce’s first-ever craft fair will showcase a wide range of makers such as candles, soap, baked goods and more. Dec. 31: Kids New Year’s Eve Bash. Lake Compounce invites kids to participate in a juice box toast, bubble dance party, crafts and more. The evening will end with a fireworks show beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce will run Fridays from 5–9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 4–9 p.m. from Nov. 26 through Jan. 1, except Christmas Day. Lake Compounce also extended its calendar to include weekdays Dec. 27-31 from 4-9 p.m.
