BRISTOL – Foodshare, the United Way of West Central Connecticut and the Bristol Mayor’s Office is holding another Farmers to Families Produce Box Distribution event Thursday, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until boxes run out at the Public Works Garage at 95 Vincent P. Kelly Road.

“We are receiving approximately 1,000 boxes on October 21,” said Donna Osuch, United Way president. “We know that food insecurity continues to be an issue for some and we are really happy that this program was extended again.”

Food box pallets will be taken from trucks and then divided at stations. Vehicles are asked to follow a traffic pattern to enter drive-thru style lines for food to be placed in the back of seats or trunks. The distribution is anticipated to be contactless and follow covid precautions.
