BRISTOL – A virtual vigil to commemorate AIDS Awareness month will take place this Friday.

For about the last 30 years, the Task Force on HIV/AIDS has held a vigil every October. Last year the Task Force held the vigil virtually on Facebook and this year the event will be similar.

"Instead of a live Candlelight Vigil, the Task Force asks you to post a photo (on Facebook) of yourself with a message or a photo of a person who you are remembering on that day. The names and messages will be added to the Bristol quilt panel which will be submitted to the National AIDS Quilt when complete," they stated in a release. "On Facebook, search for The City of Bristol Mayor's Task Force on HIV/AIDS."

The Task Force is inviting everyone in the Bristol area to attend.
