BRISTOL – The return for the annual Friends of the Bristol Public Library’s Used Book Sale is slate for Sept. 22 to Sept 25 in the lower meeting rooms of the library at 5 High Street.

Items to be sold include over 8,000 gently used books, CDs, audiobooks and DVDs. Pieces range between 25 cents to $2. A collection of specially priced books will also be on display.

The sale opens as part of a preview night with a $5 admission from 3 to 7 p.m., Sept. 22. Hours following with free admission are Sept 23 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon and then 1 to 2 p.m.

Books that are considered regularly priced will be considered half-price the entire respective Friday of the sale and when the sale closes Saturday a fill-the-bag option for $5 will be available for patrons between 9 a.m. and noon. Those items that are considered at a special price will not be available for the half-price or fill-a-bag options. Items from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday will be free, again, save for those items specially marked.

Masks are required for the event.

The book sale is considered the Friends of the Bristol Public Library’s main fundraiser. Proceeds support library services and items that are not considered part of the library’s standard budget. Items in the sale were donated by area residents.
