BRISTOL – The Bristol Democratic Town Committee recently released its endorsement slate of candidates for this coming November election.

Committee officials say they had a “large and energetic crowd” at the Bristol Historical Society’s endorsement event where the committee both nominated and confirmed candidates for the Bristol Public Schools Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, City Council, mayor and treasurer.

Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu will be running for a third term as mayor.

For the first council district, Greg Hahn and Scott Rosado, both incumbents, received an endorsement for another two-year term. For the second council district, Peter Kelley, an incumbent, and first-time candidate Bob Meilcarz received a endorsement. Both incumbents, Brittany Barney and Mary Fortier, also received an endorsement to run for the third district council seats.

Those endorsed as candidates for the Bristol Public Schools Board of Education include Jaymie Bianca, Tom O’Brien and Chris Wilson.

David Preleski received an endorsement to run for the office of city treasurer and is currently a third-term city council member. Shirley Salvatore and Thomas Ragaini will also be running again for a seat on the Board of Assessment Appeals.
