Car crash closes portion of Willis Street in Bristol

BRISTOL – A car accident closed a portion of Willis Street for several hours Monday.

Police said the single-car crash occurred around 9:37 a.m. in the area of 466 Willis St. There, police responded to the report of a car versus pole.

No injuries were reported.

According to police, the impact from the crash left a utility pole hanging over the road.

The area from Northmont Road Extension to Long Swamp Road in Wolcott was closed for several hours.

Police said the road had reopened by the early afternoon hours Monday. They added that it may have had to be closed again when Eversource arrived to replace the utility pole.
