Just 39 new coronavirus cases reported statewide, seven from area cities, towns

The state had just 39 new positive coronavirus cases reported Wednesday, seven of which came from the area, according to state health officials. There were two virus-associated reported statewide for an overall total of 8,265.

New Britain has had 215 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 136, Newington 100, Southington 97, Plainville 38, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 11 since reporting began.

There were 10,187 coronavirus tests reported Wednesday with 39 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 0.38%. There was no change in residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 50. There are 22 covid patients currently in Hartford County hospitals, same as Tuesday.

New Britain had a decrease of one in coronavirus cases reported over the past day and has an overall total of 9,684.

Bristol had an increase of four in coronavirus cases since Tuesday and has an overall total of 6,019.

Southington had an increase of one virus case over the past day and has 3,711 cases overall.

Newington had no change in virus cases reported since Tuesday and has an overall total of 2,716.

Berlin had zero new virus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 1,585.

Plainville had an increase of two in virus cases since Tuesday and has an overall total of 1,595.

Plymouth had a decrease of one in virus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 959.
