Bristol resident dies from coronavirus-associated illness

New Britain and Newington both had two coronavirus-associated while Bristol had one additional virus-associated death reported Wednesday, according to state health officials.

New Britain had two confirmed coronavirus-associated deaths to bring its totals in that category to 89 confirmed and 23 probable. Newington had one resident confirmed and another considered probable as having died from coronavirus-associated illness. The town is up to 55 confirmed and 14 probable deaths in all. Bristol had one confirmed virus-associated death among its residents, for totals that stand at 75 confirmed and 10 probable.

There were 45 deaths reported statewide Wednesday, moving that total to 4,926 overall. There were 31,232 tests reported over the past day with 1,872 coming back as positive cases, a rate of 5.99%. There were 77 state residents hospitalized due to coronavirus Wednesday for a total of 968.

New Britain is up to 2,989 confirmed and 186 probable cases.

Bristol has had 1,533 confirmed and 86 probable coronavirus cases.

Southington stands at 896 confirmed and 82 probable cases.

Newington has had 862 confirmed and 44 probable cases.

Plainville is up to 427 confirmed and 30 probable cases.

Berlin has had 417 confirmed and 31 probable cases.

Plymouth is up to 213 confirmed and 22 probable cases.
