Bristol, Southington have coronavirus-associated deaths; plus Bristol, Plymouth, Southington, Plainville case updates

Newington and Southington both had a resident confirmed as dying from coronavirus-illness, while Bristol had one resident considered probable, according to data released by state health officials. There were 23 virus-associated deaths statewide Friday, bringing that total to 4,828.

There were 31,493 tests reported over the past day with 2,088 coming back as positive cases, a rate of 6.63%. There were also an additional eight residents hospitalized with coronavirus across the state for a total that now stands at 848.

Bristol is now at 73 confirmed and nine probable coronavirus deaths after the latest report began available. The city also had an increase of 30 residents confirmed and three more considered probable as testing positive for coronavirus. Bristol stands at 1,385 confirmed and 76 probable cases overall.

Newington had its 52nd coronavirus-associated death reported Friday. The town also has had 13 deaths considered probable. The town also had an increase of 14 confirmed and four more considered probable in residents testing positive for coronavirus. Newington is up to 809 confirmed and 47 probable cases in all.

Southington is now up to 31 confirmed and five probable virus-associated deaths after Friday’s report. The town also had an increase of 18 in residents confirmed and three more considered probable in testing positive for covid-19. Southington now stands at 819 confirmed and 68 coronavirus cases since reporting began.

New Britain had a large increase in residents confirmed as testing positive for coronavirus Friday, with an additional 69 confirmed and two more considered probable. The city is up to 2,717 confirmed and 174 probable cases overall.

Plainville had 10 more residents confirmed and one considered probable in testing positive for the virus. The town stands at 382 confirmed and 27 probable cases.

Berlin had another 15 residents confirmed and one more considered probable in testing positive for the coronavirus. The town is up to 381 confirmed and 32 probable cases in all.

Plymouth had an increase of three residents confirmed and two considered probable in testing positive for the virus. The town is up to 184 confirmed and 18 probable cases since reporting began.
