BRISTOL -- A West Hartford woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly throwing an ex-boyfriend’s pet snake out a window in Bristol and sharing a nude photo of him over social media.
Police on Monday said the incident happened at the man’s Bristol home in July, and that the snake could not be recovered. The animal is presumed dead based on the heat it requires and its other needs.
Laine Zetoff, 20, was arrested over the weekend on charges of cruelty to animals, second-degree harassment and unlawful dissemination of an intimate image.
According to police, the complainant, who has not been identified because the matter is considered domestic violence, called police after his foot-long boa constrictor was thrown out of the window of his Bristol home. While officers were on scene, Zetoff called the man over and over again, police said.
She was told not to contact the man again, and she continued to call, according to police.
Police said Zetoff also sent a photograph of the man’s genitalia to multiple people over Snapchat and shared it on her Instagram account.
Following her arrest, Zetoff was released on $25,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Nov. 25.
