BRISTOL - A pregnant woman was arrested Monday after allegedly arguing with the father of her unborn child, threatening him and slashing one of his tires in August.

Ashley Jones, 29, of Lawlor St., New Britain, showed up to the parking lot of Sheriden Woods, 321 Stonecrest Drive, where the 28-year-old man’s Lincoln sedan was parked, according to the warrant. It was not clear if this was the home of the victim as that information is redacted from the warrant because of the domestic nature of incident.

The man told police he and Jones had been arguing most of the day when she showed up around 5 p.m. on Aug. 17 asking for her charger out of his car. The man told her it was his charger, not hers, and when he unlocked the car she grabbed a box cutter knife out of a side door.

Jones then attempted to slash the tires of the car, but the man stood in front of her attempting to block her. The man grabbed her and that’s when she told him to move or she’d cut him, the warrant said.

Jones then threw his phone into the lot and slashed the left rear tire when the man went to go retrieve the phone. According to the warrant, Jones then attempted to leave by a Lyft that she showed up in, but then left on foot after the man stood in front of the car and said he had called police.

Police tried to find Jones at her place of employment and residence but was unsuccessful.

She turned herself in on Monday and was ordered to have no contact with the man, the father of her unborn child, except for when the birth happens. Court officials said she was eight-and-a-half months pregnant.

Jones is due back in New Britain Superior Court on Oct. 29. She was released on a promise to appear.
