BRISTOL - Visitors to Lake Compounce will be able to enjoy a new water slide next summer called the Venus Vortex.
Standing six stories tall above the lake and decked in green and yellow, the Venus Vortex will be a new addition to the Crocodile Cove water park.
Resembling the mouth of a venus flytrap, the slide will consist of a number of twists, turns and sudden drops. After going through a dark tunnel, riders in a three-person raft will experience weightlessness as they plummet down the near-vertical drop.
“Venus Vortex will be Lake Compounce’s largest and most thrilling slide to date,” said Jerry Brick, Lake Compounce General Manager. “This addition will further solidify our park as the go-to water park in Southern New England.”
The new water slide will be next to the Bayou Bay Wave Pool and across from Johnny Rockets. It is scheduled to open to guests Memorial Day weekend 2020.
