BRISTOL - Police are investigating after someone approached a child who had just gotten off his school bus on Wednesday and asked him for directions.

Police said the boy’s father found it suspicious after a Hispanic man, who was described as being around 30 years old, driving a white van, asked the boy for directions to a school at about 2:45 p.m. The boy was in the area of the Anthony Drive and Brace Avenue intersection.

The boy told his father there was a female passenger in the van, but he did not have any further details.

“The father thought it was suspicious that someone would ask a child who just walked off of a school bus for directions to no specific school,” Lt. Ulric Berube said in a statement on the incident.
