HARTFORD - Police have charged a Bristol man in connection with a double shooting in Hartford on Wednesday that left a teenager dead and another teen in serious condition.

William Moore, 24, of Bristol, was taken into custody early Thursday at a home on High Street in Bristol. Hartford police, Bristol officers and members of the area SWAT team - consisting of officers from Bristol, Plainville, Plymouth and Southington - helped in the arrest.

Moore faces charges of murder, first-degree assault and criminal possession of a firearm.

Police have identified one of the victims as 17-year-old Karlonzo Taylor, who was shot and killed on the second floor of an apartment building at 898 Park St. Wednesday, at about 1:30 p.m. Responding officers also found another 17-year-old male injured in the building. He has not been identified.

Police said one of the victims had been shot multiple times. The second victim has been listed in serious but stable condition. He is being treated in one of Hartford’s two hospitals.

According to Hartford police, Taylor and Moore were known to each other. The shooting stemmed from a feud they had been involved in, police said.

Moore is being held on $1.5 million bond and is expected to be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court on Friday. This is the 20th homicide reported in Hartford this year.
