BRISTOL - Police are investigating after a man robbed a local sandwich shop Monday evening, threatening that he had a weapon.

Police said a lone male walked into Subway, located at 815 Pine St., around 8:43 p.m. and demanded money from the cashier, while making a gesture that implied he had a weapon. The cashier, who was not injured, handed over an undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect fled the store.

The cashier then locked the door and called 911.

Police responded, but the suspect could not immediately be found. The Patrol and Criminal Investigation divisions are both investigating.

Anyone with information has been asked to call police at 860-584-3011.
