BRISTOL - No serious injuries were reported when two vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon leaving both cars disabled with heavy damage and engine fluids spilled all over the road.

Police, firefighters and medics responded to the intersection of Central and Washington streets around 3:15 p.m., where two people reported minor injuries as a result of a collision between a Honda Accord and a Volkswagen Jetta. Airbags in both vehicles deployed.

The injured motorists were evaluated by medics. Both declined to go to an area hospital.

Traffic was diverted around the accident scene for about 45 minutes, until both vehicles were towed away.

Firefighters put sand down to absorb the engine fluids that spilled all over the roadway.
