BRISTOL - The third annual Mommy Son Valentine's Dance at The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center is on Friday.
“The dance isn’t just for moms. Any positive role model in a boy’s life is welcome to come,” said Sarah Lucian, the club’s marketing manager. “It’s just a nice event for our organization to highlight love.”
“The event is geared for ages 5 to 12, but all ages are welcome,” she continued. “We have over 200 tickets sold right now. We are really excited to see a big crowd.”
The dance will take place at the club’s main clubhouse, 255 West St. It will feature a DJ, dance contest, bounce house and food and beverages will be for sale, Lucian said.
There will also be a photo-frame craft, meaning attendees can connect their cell phones or cameras to a printer for on-the-spot 4x6 photos and then create a frame for that photo, Lucian explained.
“We are encouraging everyone to come to the dance looking their best,” said Lucian, who added that the dance is open to the public and not only club members.
The dance is slated for Feb. 9, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are on sale on the club’s website. They cost $20 for a pair and $5 for extra guests. Lucian added, ticket prices increase on Friday, Feb. 9, to $25 for a pair and $10 for an extra guest, and tickets will available at the door.
The dance has many volunteers and sponsors, including Crowe Horwath, a Simsbury accounting, consulting and technology firm, State Farm Agent Zach Ibanez, the West Hartford Banana Republic, Raptos Dental and NY Life.
