Bristol candidates disclose current campaign donations

BRISTOL - Incumbent Republican Mayor Ken Cockayne has received more donations from individuals than Democratic opponent Ellen Zoppo-Sassu.

According to the Itemized Campaign Finance Disclosure Statements filed on July 10, Cockayne has received $16,745 in donations from individuals since he announced in January that he is running for re-election.

Zoppo-Sassu has received $12,445 in donations from individuals since she announced in May that she will be running for mayor, according to the statement.

Cockayne’s committee currently has $6,541 in hand and has spent $1,950 on campaign advertising while Zoppo-Sassu’s committee has $9,612 in hand and has not spent any donations on campaign advertising, according to the statement.

According to the statements and candidate registration forms filed by the candidates;

        
  • Republican Thomas Barnes is running for City Treasurer and has received $6,615.
  •     
  • Michael Boguslawski, Democrat, is running for City Treasurer and has only filed the initial candidate registration form and not the Campaign Finance Disclosure Statements.
  •     
  • Anthony D’Amato, Republican, is running for re-election to City Council, First District, and has received $5,030.
  •     
  • Republican Eric Carlson is running for City Council, First District, and has received $1,115.
  •     
  • Joshua Medeiros, Democrat, is running for City Council, First District, and has not yet received contributions from individuals.
  •     
  • Democrat Gregory Hahn is running for City Council, First District, and has received $1,510.
  •     
  • Jodi Zils-Gagne, Republican, is running for re-election to City Council, Second District and has received $1,740.
  •     
  • David Preleski, Democrat, is running for re-election to City Council, Second District, but has only filed the initial candidate registrations form and not the Campaign Finance Disclosure Statements.
  •     
  • Republican Andrew Howe is running for City Council, Second District, and has received $2,195.
  •     
  • Peter Kelley, Democrat, is running for City Council, Second District, and has received $125.
  •     
  • Mary Fortier, Democrat, is running for re-election to City Council, Third District, and has received $1,205.
  •     
  • Republican David Mills is running for re-election to City Council, third district, and has not yet received contributions from individuals.
  •     
  • Brittany Barney, Democrat, is running for City Council, Third District, and has received $1,040.
  •     
  • Cheryl Thibeault, Republican, is running for City Council, Third District, and has received $1,640.
