SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Drive-In invites people to discover “reel nostalgia” with several outdoor film screenings scheduled June 3 through Oct. 28.
The drive-in, located at 995 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike, will open its gates at 6 p.m. for all show times and movies will begin at sunset. Each night a different local organization will sponsor the screening and the drive-in is also sponsored by Richard Chevrolet.
The following screenings have been scheduled:
. June 3 - Rogue One, a Star Wars Story, hosted by UNICO club.
. June 10 - Beauty and the Beast (1991), hosted by the Southington Education Foundation
June 17 - Jaws, hosted by Volunteer Fire Companies 1 and2.
June 24 - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, hosted by United Way
July 1 - Top Gun, hosted by American Legion Auxiliary
July 8 - The Secret Life of Pets, hosted by Southington Valley Midget Football
July 15 - Jurassic Park, hosted by Sorelle d’Italia
July 22 - Moana, hosted by Southington Land Trust
July 29 - Dirty Dancing, hosted by Southington Rotary
Aug. 5 - Spaceballs, hosted by Southington Kiwanis Club
Aug. 12 - Storks, hosted by the Mill Foundation
Aug. 19 - The Goonies, hosted by Southington Travel Knights
Aug. 26 - The Peanuts Movie, hosted by Southington STEPS
Sept. 2 - Trolls, hosted by Southington Bread for Life
The Drive-In Season will close with a Halloween Festival Oct. 28 hosted by the Lions Club at Southington Community Cultural Arts. The films that will be shown on this date have yet to be announced.
Southington residents pay $10 per carload and non-residents pay $15 a carload. Walk-ins are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and will pay $2 a person. Only cash will be accepted, not debit or credit cards.
There will be food vendors on site.
