BRISTOL - The Bristol Central boys soccer team is heading into the CCC’s postseason tournament with a little extra momentum.

Behind goals from three different scorers, the Rams made sure to cap off their regular season with a 3-0 win over crosstown rival Bristol Eastern on Saturday. It’s the first time Bristol Central (5-4-2) has beaten the Lancers (4-3-4) since 2016.

The Rams set the tone of the match early when Charlie Pittman found the back of the net 1:35 into the first half on a pass from Mark Palma.

Umar Malick scored Bristol Central’s second goal when he headed in a Tyler D'Agostino corner with 3:30 before the half and the two reconnected with 6:15 left in the second half when Malick scored on a side volley off another D'Agostino corner.

Rams goalkeeper Matthew Beaucar finished the match with four saves, while Bristol Eastern’s Nate DiLoreto had three.

Both teams will begin postseason play on Tuesday with Bristol Central traveling to Plainville and the Lancers going to Farmington.
