Bristol Eastern boys basketball drops another close game in loss to Lewis Mills

BURLINGTON -Brice Waldron scored with 1.6 seconds to play to give the Lewis Mills Boys Basketball Team a 41-40 win over Bristol Eastern on Friday night.

Eastern led 36-31 going into the fourth quarter,  but only scored four points in the period. Trini Otero scored Eastern's final points on an inside shot with just under four minutes to play, giving the Lancers a 40-35 lead.

  Waldron hit a three pointer with 19.3 second to play to bring Mills back to within a point, trailing 40-39. On the ensuing possession, a double team by Mills in the corner forced an Eastern turnover.  Mills put the ball in play, and Waldron scored on an inside move with 1.6 seconds to play, giving Mills their first lead of the game.

Leading scorers for Eastern were Trini Otero with 16 points and Bryce Curtin with 11. Tommy Martinotti was the only Mills player in double figures, scoring a dozen points.
