Roundup: St. Paul's Baston finishes sixth in 55-meter dash at Elm City Coaches Invitational

NEW HAVEN - St. Paul’s Connor Baston finished sixth in the 55-meter dash at the Elm City Coaches Invitational at Hillhouse High School in New Haven on Saturday.

The senior ran a personal-best 6.85 seconds to win his qualifying heat and record the sixth-fastest time in the event. In the finals, he was clocked at 6.90 to finish sixth overall, marking the highest finish for a St. Paul athlete this indoor season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Paul 58, Torrington 37: The Falcons improved to 7-2 with a victory at home on Friday night. Janessa Gonzalez (12 points), Jade Udoh (12), Olivia Heslin (9), Morgan Kolb (6) and Sophia Gerst (5) led the offense.

East Lyme 72, Bristol Eastern 48: The Lancers lost a road game on Saturday afternoon. Bristol Eastern (3-5) was led offensively by Ciara Collins (17 points), Jordan Ouellette (9), Sage Scarritt (8) and Avery Arbuckle (6).
