Sports Roundup: Bristol Eastern girls basketball drops important game against Conard

WEST HARTFORD - The Bristol Eastern girls basketball came up short against Conard on Tuesday night, 52-41.

Bristol Eastern seniors Hannah Maghini and Miranda Janick did their best to keep the Lancers in the game. Maghini had 19 points and Janick added 10.

With the loss Bristol Eastern falls to 6-12 on the season and needs to win its two remaining games - against RHAM and Bristol Central.

St. Paul 46, Oxford 30: Morgan Kolb and Aidrianna Lopez put in the work offensively with a combined 27 points in the game.

St. Paul (15-2) will travel to Watertown Friday night at 6:15 p.m.


Litchfield 54, Terryville 50: Matt Schweter’s 23 points led the Cowboys to the win over the Kangaroos.

Terryville, led by Evan Dorso (13 points), fell to 5-10 on the season.

The Kangaroos now must win three of their remaining five games to qualify for the tournament.

St. Paul 80, Oxford 37: It was the return of Darek Wiecki for the Falcons and they delivered the big win for him. Wiecki, back from an ACL injury, scored four points in his return.

St. Paul was led by Tyler Arbuckle’s 31 points.


Bristol 78, Bulkeley 64: Bristol took first place in 11 of the 12 events.

In the 200 freestyle, the only event Bristol did not take first, Lewis Since and Ben Stafford, both Bristol swimmers, tied for second place with a time of 2:08.45.

In diving, Bristol took the top three places. Josh Mitchell, Marissa Stone and Anthony Fasci were the three divers.

Colton Litwinczyk finished first in both the 500 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Gabe Bartolome placed first in the 200 IM and Fasci took first in the 100 breaststroke, as teammate Mike Kaminski finished second.
