MANCHESTER - Bristol Eastern boys soccer had to travel to play Cheney Tech in a play-in game for the state tournament.

The Lancers made sure they returned home with a win in a dominant 6-0 win over the Beavers on Saturday afternoon.

Jake Woznicki led the way for Eastern with three goals.

Ben Chiasson, Tom Lombardi and Brandon Greger also scored for the Lancers.

Shots on goal were big for Bristol Eastern as Cheney Tech keeper George Asiedu made 30 saves in the game, facing pressure throughout.

With the win, it doesn’t get easier as the Lancers travel to take on undefeated E.O. Smith.

“We had a strong game utilizing quick passing and solid defense,” Lancers head coach Bill Sweet said. “Now we move on to challenge EO Smith, number 1 in Class L and number 1 in the state.”

Bristol Eastern improved to 6-7-4 on the season with the win and the Beavers ended their season 6-9-2.
