MERIDEN - Maloney’s Flint Rich knocked home a goal with 19 minutes to go to give Maloney a 1-0 victory over visiting Bristol Eastern on Wednesday night at Falcon Field in Meriden.

Both teams had shots denied as Lancer goalie Tom Tefoe just touched away a Ben Pierce attempt with a minute to go in the first half.

Maloney’s Devin Juan thwarted an Eastern free kick with six minutes to go.

Tefoe finished with seven saves and Juan had six.

“We moved the ball well in midfield but couldn’t make that final penetrating play,” Eastern coach Bill Sweet said. “Tefoe was solid again, while midfielder Nick LaChance had an outstanding game.”

Maloney improved to 10-6, while Eastern fell to 5-7-4.

The Lancers will now await the Class L seeding on Friday and will probably be in a play-in game on Saturday afternoon.

Terryville 3, Weaver 0: The Kangaroos improved to 12-5, 4-4 in the Berkshire League, with a 25-11, 25-17, 25-14 victory at home on Wednesday night.

Leading the way for Terryville were Kristine Gutierrez (3 kills, 6 digs, 3 aces, 2 assists, 1 block), Martina Trovato (8 kills, 4 digs, 1 ace) and Alyssa Prozzo (4 kills, 9 digs, 5 aces, 1 assist).
