The location of this year’s annual Battle for the Bell football game on Thanksgiving Day between Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern “has not yet been determined,” according to Bristol Superintendent of Schools Ellen Solek, despite being previously listed on the CIAC website as being scheduled to be played on the turf field at Bristol Eastern.

A tweet from the BCHS Athletics Twitter account on Sunday also stated that, “Final decision on Thanksgiving Day game site has not been determined at this time. Final decision will be made at later date.”

According to an email sent by Solek to the Press on Sunday morning, the location of the Thanksgiving Day game “was incorrectly published on the CIAC website and is being corrected immediately.”

As of Sunday afternoon, the schedule on the CIAC site had been changed to now indicate it would be played at Muzzy Field.

However, Solek added, “The location of the Thanksgiving Day game has not yet been determined and is still scheduled to be played on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.”

No timetable has been given by any source as to when a final decision on the site of the game will be made.
