ROUNDUP: Bristol Eastern softball gets plenty of offensive contributions in victory

MERIDEN - The Bristol Eastern softball team got contributions from most of its lineup as it cruised to a 9-0 victory Thursday afternoon over Platt.

Erin Girard pitched the shutout for the Lancers, allowing five hits and one walk, while striking out 13 batters. She also had a double and an RBI at the plate.

Other key offensive contributors for Bristol Eastern (13-2) were Nicole D’Amato (3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Alyssa Hackling (2-for-4, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Jillian Maghini (2-for-4, double, run, RBI), Lauren Aparo (2-for-4, RBI), Taylor Keegan (2-for-5, RBI) and Makenzie Jankowski (2-for-5, 2 runs, stolen base).

GIRLS TENNIS

St. Paul 6, Wolcott 1: With the victory, St. Paul finished its regular season 13-2 and will begin NVL Tournament play next week.

Natasha Kempes, Tori Kilbourne, Katie Pauloz and Sophia Penisse swept the singles matches for St. Paul. The doubles teams of Mariah Fiscella and Caroline Badal, and Lizzy Etter and Ximena Varela-Marin also won.

BOYS GOLF

St. Paul 184, Seymour 218, Wilby 256: The Falcons improved to 10-4 as Noah Defeo earned medalist honors with a round of 44 at Oxford Green in Oxford (par 36). Also scoring for St. Paul were Matt Raymond (46), Adam Ward (47) and Ryne Salius (47).

GIRLS GOLF

St. Paul 258, Amity 197: Natalie Millerick’s round of 51 was the low score for the Falcons.

Bridget Bavasley was medalist with a round of 40 at Racebrook Country Club in Orange (par 36).

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Terryville 74, Thomaston 66: The Kangaroos improved to 5-4 for the season thanks to event wins by Mike West (100 and 200 meters), Bailey McCann (110 high hurdles), Adam Pelz (300 hurdles), Corey Picard (800 meters), Tom Kurilenko (shot put), James Clark (high jump), Bailey Schuster (high jump) and the 4x100 relay team (West, Kyle Miranda, Clark and Schuster).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Thomaston 104, Terryville 36: Winning events for the Kangaroos (2-6) were Jordan Conklin (200 and 400 meters), Bella Christiana (100 meters), Emily Morgan (high jump) and the 4x100 relay team (Christiana, Joanna Johnson, Mariah Morin and Conklin).
