ROUNDUP: St. Paul boys soccer secures first win

The St. Paul Falcons volleyball team improved to 3-1 after defeating Naugatuck Tuesday night 3 sets to 1. The Falcons, led by Allie Barton, Julia McPhee and Renee Singleton, won the first set 25-23, but lost the second set 25-15. 

The Falcons rallied back to win the third set 25-19 and the fourth set 25-15. Barton led the team with 18 kills and 4 aces. McPhee assisted on 28 scores and Singleton had 6 kills. 

BOYS SOCCER

The St. Paul boys soccer team recorded their first win Tuesday night after beating Derby 6-0. The Falcons now boost a record of 1-2-1 while Derby falls to 0-3-1. 

At halftime, St. Paul led 1-0, and scores from James Naples, Jordan Conroy, Jaiden Esprit, Michael Cipriano and Adam Whitley stretched the lead and secured the victory. 

Nick Reiger, Jordan Conroy, John Salgado and Keaton Kroll also contributed to the win with multiple assists. St. Paul goalie Tyson Raymond accounted for 5 saves while Derby’s goalie Brennen Fitch had 15 saves. 

Farmington (3-0-1) beat Bristol Eastern (1-3), 4-1. Danny Simeone scored a goal in each half and Isaac Coello added two in the second half. Simeone scored 8 minutes in, off a Kit Scudder header for the only score of the first half. 

 Connor Policarpio, with an assist from Landon Gawl, tied the game 9 minutes into the second half. Simeone got his second goal 2 minutes later and Coello scored with 7 minutes left and at the end with 16 seconds remaining.

Dante Fierro made 4 saves for the River Hawks and Eastern's Peyton Cummings had 9.  Eastern will host Platt on Thursday night at 6 p.m.

Bristol Central Boys Soccer team lost to Hall 5-1.

GIRLS SOCCER

The St. Paul girls soccer team also recorded their first win Tuesday night beating Derby 8-1. The Falcons improved to 1-3. St. Paul’s Emily Walker scored three goals while Rose Wells, Rachel Leone and Giovanna Morello scored once. Grace Peterson also scored two goals for the Falcons 

 Alexis Muthing, Vanessa Visconti, Giovanna Morello and Mikayla Johnson also contributed to the game by each having an assist. 

The Bristol Eastern Girls Soccer team lost to Northwest Catholic 7-0.

The Bristol Central Girls Soccer team lost 5-2 to Enfield.
