NEW BRITAIN - It appears a strange offseason hasnâ€™t slowed down Nate DeAngleo.
The Bristol Central boys cross country senior ran the course at Stanley Quarter Park in 15:31 on Wednesday, just five seconds shy of the course record, as the Rams beat New Britain 16-47.
Overall, Bristol Central took four of the top five finishes and eight of the top 10.
After DeAngelo, Frankie Porrini (2nd, 17:09), Chris Roy (3rd, 18:22), Ray Peters (4th, 18:34), Austin Freve (6th, 19:06), Ryan Sarmiento (7th, 19:59), Lance Archibald (8th, 20:02) and Scott Petrosky (9th, 20:09) rounded out the Ramsâ€™ top runners.
Jacob Davis (5th, 18:40) and Joshua Davis (10th, 20:20) were the Hurricanesâ€™ best finishers.
Over on the girls side, Bristol Central claimed a 15-50 win. New Britain does not have a girls team this season.
Natalia Popielarz (19:39), Bell Crandall (21:30) and Johannesburg Juarez (24:57) were the Ramsâ€™ top finishers.
Holy Cross 2, St. Paul 1: The match was as close as the final score indicated with Holy Cross scoring the winning goal with three minutes left off the foot of Jenna Tracy.
Sophia Gerst scored the Falconsâ€™ lone goal on an assist from Emily Walker. Nina Zwolinski also had strong performance for St. Paul..
