BRISTOL - The Bristol co-op girls lacrosse team picked up its second consecutive win on Monday afternoon.
Gabby Abramczyk led Bristol with five goals in the 9-5 win against Wolcott.
“Gabby was really aggressive from the opening draw today and it showed in her stats at the end of the game,” Bristol coach Kyle Phelan said. The rest of the team took after her and the effort was outstanding across the board.”
Alexis Lape, Aly Policarpio, Leah Policarpio and Ashley Watson added the other goals for Bristol.
Liz Hintz and Kaitlyn Delvalle split time in goal for Bristol and each played strong halves.
“We have a week left and we want to play with this intensity the rest of the way out,” Phelan said. “Coach Policarpio and I are very satisfied with the result tonight.”
Bristol Central 9, Plainville 1: Steve Warkoski, the Rams defense behind him and the offensive surge led to the big win and moved Bristol Central one game closer to qualifying for the postseason, now 7-9.
Warkoski went six strong and added two hits offensively. Alex Balfour closed the game out with a scoreless seventh inning and struck out two.
Bristol Central’s offense was plentiful throughout the order with 12 hits.
Austin Brown was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI while playing strong defensively in right field.
Jake Santiago went 3-for-4, Ryan Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a two-run double, Noah Plantamuro had a single, two sacrifice flies, a walk and 2 RBI.
Bristol Central 3, Plainville 2: The Rams made the most of their four hits to earn a victory at home.
Pitcher Peyton Greger allowed just six hits to earn the win for Bristol Central (9-9).
Terryville 8, Housatonic 2: Martina Trovato, Lacy Lyons and Tiffany Pires all had a pair of RBI for the Kangaroos to provide the offense. Terryville (7-10) starting pitcher Pires earned the win.
St. Paul 186, Woodland 190: The Falcons’ Ryne Salius was the medalist in the match with a low score of 43.
Following Salius was Sam Mazzarelli (46), Chris Millerick (47) and Michael Dolce (50).
With the win St. Paul moved to 9-2.
Amity 189, St. Paul 246: Bridget Barnsley was the medalist for the match with a low score of 41 for Amity.
Natalie Millerick paced the Falcons scoring with a round of 52. Bella Hamelin (64), Jill Kiazim (65), Julia Marchak (65) and Sarah Richardson (71) made up the rest of St. Paul’s scoring.
The Falcons dropped to 2-7 with the loss.
Bristol Central 5, Plainville 2: The Rams topped the Blue Devils.
