BRISTOL - With under a minute left in the second overtime period, Bristol Central girls soccerâ€™s Adalia Malick had an opportunity to score the winning goal but couldnâ€™t capitalize.
It was a game the Rams controlled throughout against Bristol Eastern but couldnâ€™t escape with a victory as the clock ticked down and the scoreboard read 2-2 in the draw between the two rivals on Monday night.
It took Bristol Central until just over 20 minutes remaining in the second half before the first goal, scored by Jenna Lowe with an assist from Faith Roy.
Minutes later Bristol Central tied it up at 2-2 on a goal from Lily Hansen on a ricochet off of Martin on a corner kick from Malick.
The Lancers capitalized on a higher percentage of their shot opportunities.
Bristol Eastern was outshot in the game 22-11.
In the first half, Bristol Eastern capitalized on a pair of opportunities while Bristol Central controlled possession.
Kate Kozikowski got Eastern on the board first with a nice pass from Sara Tyminski just over 10 minutes into the game.
At the 20:05 mark Kailey Laprise got her first goal of the game for the Lancers.
The Rams couldnâ€™t work good angles on their shots, consistently giving Karly Martin easy save opportunities resulting in a 2-0 Bristol Eastern lead at the end of the half.
Again, it was Bristol Central controlling the field in the second half.
The Rams Adalia Malick got the first strong opportunity of the period that Martin saved right next to the right post.
Myah Croze got an opportunity to score her first goal of the game but just missed the net with less than 38 minutes.
At the 34-minute mark, Malick got a corner kick opportunity but failed to capitalize on it.
Malick had plenty of chances in the game with two shots in the first half and five in the second but couldnâ€™t get one past Lancers keeper Martin, who was outstanding throughout the night making 16 saves in the contest.
With just under two minutes remaining in the second overtime, Martin tipped the ball over her net, giving the Rams a corner kick that went nowhere.
It was missed chances for Bristol Central that led to the loss and the Lancers escaped in what was a one-sided affair throughout.
