ROUNDUP: Bristol Eastern girls volleyball can't complete comeback, beat by E.O. Smith

BRISTOL - Bristol Eastern girls volleyball started strong against E.O Smith.

While the overall performance was good, the Lancers couldn’t overcome the experience of the seniors for the Panthers.

After taking the first game 25-18, Bristol Eastern lost the next two 25-18 and 25-11.

In the fourth set, the Lancers bounced back, winning 25-23, but couldn’t continue the comeback, falling in the fifth set 12-15.

Aliana Rivoira, Rebecca Bender and Alex DiMattia all had strong performances for Bristol Eastern.

Rivoira had 36 assists, three aces and seven digs. Bender finished with 20 digs and DiMattia had 14 digs.

The Lancers will be home against rival Bristol Central on Monday.

Bristol Central 3, Enfield 1: Bristol Central bounced back following a tough loss to Maloney.

With strong performances from Peyton Greger, Brianna Saverino and Amanda Warner, the Rams moved to 6-3 on the season.

Bristol Central will take on rival Bristol Eastern in a big early season matchup at Bristol Eastern on Monday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Litchfield 3, Terryville 0: Terryville continued its slow start to the season with the shutout loss to Litchfield. In their five losses, the Kangaroos have scored just one goal.

Ali O’Neil, Caroline Donovan and Allie Davenport scored the goals for Litchfield. Two assists came from Christina Orsini and O’Neil added an assist with her goal.

Terryville goalie Maria Cesare stopped 11 shots, but the lack of offense and too many shots against her led to the loss.

The Kangaroos drop to 1-5-0 on the season.
