BRISTOL - The Bristol Central football team got its first victory on its new turf field at the school in dominant fashion, defeating Wethersfield 33-0 on Friday night.
Darrell Payton scored three touchdowns for the Rams, rushing 19 times for 171 yards. His 12-yard TD run was Bristol Central’s first score of the game. He later added TD runs of six yards for a 27-0 lead and five yards for the final 33-0 advantage.
Nate Rosa caught two passes for 50 yards, including a nine-yard TD reception for the Rams’ second scoring play of the game.
The two point conversion was successful, but not as intended. The conversion pass was meant for Justus Fitzpatrick, but it was deflected straight up in the air by the defense and caught by Rosa in a crowd in the end zone.

Other key rushers in the game were Justus Fitzpatrick (2 for 14 yards) and Frankie Jenkins (6 for 25 yards).
