BRISTOL - The Bristol Eastern boys and girls track teams each split a tri-meet on Tuesday afternoon at home, with both defeating Platt but falling to Middletown.
The Eastern boys beat Platt 87-56, but lost to Middletown 107-42.
Chris LeBeau was the only Lancer boy to place first against both teams, and he did it in two events: the 800 and 3,200 meters. Donovan Soucy won a pair of events over Platt (high hurdles and 300 hurdles), placing second to Middletown both times.
The Eastern girls beat Platt 69-57, but fell to Middletown 95-51.
Bristol Central 121, Maloney 26: The Rams won all but two events to sweep to their second win of the season.
Luis Medina was a four-time winner, in the 100 meters, 200 meters and long jump, as well as anchoring the 4x400 relay. Mike Guzman was a double winner, with victories in the discus and shot put. Elijah Ortiz won both hurdle events and Matt Roy won both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
Freshman David Bowes won the 400 in a time of 51.96 and was second in both the 100 and 200. Other winners for the Rams were Hunter Peterson in the high jump, Mason Graff in the triple jump, Alrick Grant in the 800 meters and Nick Marcantonio in the pole vault.
Bristol Central 84, Maloney 66: The Rams improved to 2-0 overall with a win at home in their conference opener.
Olivia Savino won the 100 hurdles (17.86) and long jump (15-0), while Hannah Jones won the 1,600 (6:05.5) and 3,200 meters (13.05.71). Adalia Malick won the 400 meters (1:01.84), Ashley Cummings won the 800 meters (2:40) and Shy-Ann Whitten won the high jump (4-6).
The team of Cummings, Nicole Pizarro, Paige Hinton and Malick won the 4x400 relay (4:23.16); while Jones, Cummings, Alexandra Sirko and Hinton won the 4x800 relay (11:20.16); and Malick, Whitten, Pizarro and Savino won the 4x100 relay.
