BRISTOL – The Bristol Blues have clinched the Western Division of the NECBL.
With a 10-game lead over Danbury, and 10 games to play, the teams could end in a tie atop the division, but the Blues hold a 4-0 series advantage over the Westerners with two additional games to play this season, giving the Blues the division crown.
That means there will be between three and five additional home games at Muzzy Field this summer.
have announced that there will be additional home, playoff games this season as the team has officially been named the 2022 Western Division Champions.
Sarah Lucian, community relations director for the Bristol Blues, said that the Blues have had a “fantastic” season and are currently ranked top in the League.
“Our coaches our phenomenal and our guys are very committed and enthusiastic,” she said. “Blues don’t lose.”
As a result, Lucian said, there will between three and five additional home games at Muzzy Field this season.
The Blues also have several Promo Nights remaining this season.
The “Super Heroes Night” that was originally set for Monday night will be rescheduled because of the rain.
Sarah Lucian, community relations director for the Bristol Blues, said this Wednesday will be “Christmas in July” night at Muzzy Field.
“There will be giveaways for the first 50 fans and there may or may not be a special guest by the name of Kris Kringle,” Lucian said.
This Thursday’s promo night will be “Thirsty Thursday.”
“We’re partnering with Two Toads and Firefly Hollow breweries, who will be giving out samples,” Lucian said. “There will also be food from the Southington Chick-fil-A and $3 light beers. Beer koozies will be given out for the first 50 people. Designated drivers get in free.”
Saturday will be “fireworks night,” held in partnership with the City of Bristol. The fireworks will begin 15 minutes after the end of the game.
“Anyone can come to watch the fireworks after the sixth inning of the game for free,” Lucian said.
Fan Appreciation Night will be held on July 29, sponsored by the new Bell City Barber Shop.
“They will be offering free haircuts for the first 10 kids who come that night,” Lucian said. “There will also be other giveaways and extra special surprises.”
