BERLIN - More than 1 million people in the United States are diagnosed with skin cancer each year making it the most common of all cancers. A free program about skin cancer, including an overview and about prevention and protection, will be offered at 1 p.m., at Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive. Presenter will be Tina Rodriguez, outreach educator of the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, which is sponsoring the program with Hartford HealthCare Senior Services.

SOUTHINGTON - A Dinner with the Doc focusing on heart health and cardiology issues will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., at Southington Care Center, 45 Meriden Ave., in the Rehab Pavilion. Presenter will be Andre Elias Ghantous, MD, FACC, chief of cardiology, Hartford HealthCare. Southington Care Center is sponsoring the program.

FORESTVILLE - Come attend the First Annual Outdoors Blueberry Festival at Asbury United Methodist Church, located on 90 Church Ave., in Forestville. This event is rain or Shine. From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., there will be a Blueberry Pancake Breakfast. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a Vendor Fair with delicious blueberry treats, pie slices, cobbler, sundaes, grilled hot dogs and more. The vendor fee is $20; bring your own table. TERRYVILLE - Join Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish at this summer’s Vacation Bible School for “ROAR: Life is Wild, God is Good,” an epic African adventure that engages the whole herd! At ROAR, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life. Each day at Roar VBS, kids travel through field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventure.
