BRISTOL - The Futures League All-Star Game is set for July 16 at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and there will be plenty of players representing the Bristol Blues.

Of the 50 players selected to play, eight will be Blues: pitchers Will Nowak, Mark Faello and Dominic Niman (from CCSU); infielders Buddy Dewaine (from CCSU) and Zeke Diamond; and outfielders Brandon Miller, Parker Upton and Austin White. The FCBL made the announcement on Tuesday.

Nowak (1-1, 1.28 ERA, 29 strikeouts), Faello (3-0, 2.45 ERA, 18 strikeouts), Diamond (.330 batter average, 9 RBI) and Miller (.368, 3 home runs, 26 RBI, 14 stolen bases) will play for the Electrics, while Niman (5-0, 3.43 ERA, 19 strikeouts), Dewaine (.319, 8 RBI), Upton (*.271, 8 RBI) and White (.340, 17 RBI, 31 walks, 20 stolen bases) will suit up for the Hillies.

The two All-Star teams are named after the Pittsfield Hillies and Pittsfield Electrics. The Hillies were an Eastern League (Class A) team based in Pittsfield in the 1920s, while the Electrics were a minor league Eastern Association team based in Pittsfield around 1913 and 1914.

The first pitch for the All-Star Game is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. with the Futures League Home Run Derby to be played out before that at 6:20 p.m.

There will also be an online vote for which player will get the final spot in this year’s All-Star. The vote will be going up on the Futures League’s social media on Wednesday.
