Ostberg's walk-off single helps Bristol Blues split doubleheader with North Shore Navigators

BRISTOL - It was the tale of two seventh innings for the Bristol Blues during their doubleheader against the North Shore Navigators.

One led to loss, the other a win.

Ian Ostberg’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh secured a 1-0 win for the Blues in Game 2. The hit, just one of five for Bristol in the game, came just a couple of hours after the Navigators scored twice in the seventh to win the first game 3-2.

JP Knight singled in Corey DiLoreto to tie the score at 2-2. Knight later scored the winning run for North Shore on an obstruction call.

Overall, the Blues got quality pitching in both games. Jared Kollar threw five scoreless innings in the second game, giving up just two hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Casey Elbin finished off the Navigators with two shutout innings of his own.

Nick Rascati got the start for the Bristol in Game 1. He went six innings, surrendering just the one runand struck out four with no walks. Mark Silvestri pitched the final inning innings and received the loss after giving up the winning run.
