Nashua, NH - It looked as though the Bristol Blues would come away with an easy win Saturday night.

The Blues were up comfortably heading into the final innings of their game against the Nashua Silver Knights and then they weren’t. In the end, Bristol survived a late rally from Nashua to eventually come away with the 8-6 win.

Max Goione went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI in the game to pace the Blues’ offense. Jeff Shanfeldt drove in two runs as well, while Nick Roy, Garrett Blaylock and Logan Green knocked in a run apiece.

Ross Weiner pitched 5 1/3 innings to pick up the victory, allowing two runs on five hits. But his bullpen almost blew it.

Bristol was up 8-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth before the Silver Knights scored five runs, including two in the bottom of the ninth, over the final four innings. Jake Frasca allowed two over 1 1/3 innings of work, while Jacob Wallace was hit around for two - one earned - without recording an out.
