BRISTOL - The Bristol Blues lost an early lead, then came from behind to beat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks 7-5 in a Sunday afternoon game at Muzzy Field.
The Blues led 4-1 after five innings, but the Sharks rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth to tie it, then went ahead 5-4 on a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Bristol tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an RBI triple from Jayson Gonzalez (2-for-3, 2 RBI), then rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth to go ahead for good.
Max Goione singled to start the rally leading off the inning, then Nick Roy singled with one out. A wild pitch allowed Goine to score and Roy to take third base before Garrett Blaylock walked. Then Roy scored the insurance run on another wild pitch.
Chris Davis had a pair of hits in the game for the Blues, including a double.
