Bristol native Curtin among three Bristol Blues selected to play against Team USA collegiate national squad

The Team USA collegiate national team is preparing to play in the 41st USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series next week; but before that, the country’s best young collegiate talent will take on a Futures League all-star team on Tuesday, July 11, in Worcester, Mass.

Three members of the Bristol Blues were selected to play for that Futures League all-star team: pitcher Tommy Curtin, a Bristol native from CCSU; infielder Jake Frasca of Sacred Heart University; and Chris Davis from Princeton.

The game between the Futures League and Team USA will be held at Hanover Insurance Park in Worcester, Mass., on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.

After that game, the Collegiate National Team will face Team Japan in Worcester on July 13, followed by games at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass., on July 14 and at Holman Stadium in Nashua, N.H., on July 17.

Each game in the series will have a 7:05 p.m. start time. Tickets can be purchased at www.thefuturesleague.com .

The Futures League team will be coached by Worcester Bravehearts manager J.P. Pyne and assisted by Nashua Silver Knights manager B.J. Neverett, Brockton Rox manager Tad Skelley and Seacoast Mavericks manager Jhonneris Mendez.
