For the 14th straight day, there were no coronavirus-associated deaths among our area cities and towns as we head into the weekend. There was one virus-associated death reported statewide, however, for a total of 4,432, according to the latest data released by state health officials Friday.
There were 15,265 coronavirus tests reported, with just 140 coming back as positive cases. There were three additional patients hospitalized with the virus, for a total of 69 currently being treated in state hospitals.
New Britain had an additional two confirmed coronavirus cases while its probable cases remained the same. The city had had 1,180 confirmed and 53 probable cases and 72 confirmed and 22 probable virus-associated deaths.
Bristol had an increase of one confirmed coronavirus case Friday, for totals of 628 confirmed and 18 probable cases and 64 confirmed and nine probable virus-associated deaths.
Newington also had an increase of one confirmed virus case. The town had had 390 confirmed and 21 probable cases and 38 confirmed and 13 probable coronavirus-associated deaths.
Plainville had an increase of one confirmed coronavirus case as well. The town has had 179 confirmed and two probable cases and 25 confirmed and one probable virus-associated deaths.
Southington, Berlin and Plymouth all had no changes Friday
Southington stayed at 341 confirmed and 13 probable cases and 28 confirmed and five probable coronavirus-associated deaths.
Berlin remained at 172 confirmed and seven probable cases and 14 confirmed and three probable virus-associated deaths.
Plymouth has had 72 confirmed and five probable cases and one virus-associated confirmed death.
