NEW BRITAIN – As the state begins Phase one of reopening, museums in New Britain and Bristol will not be among those opening their doors Wednesday.
Many of them, like the New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain Youth Museum, Imagine Nation and American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol, are indoor museums and not an outdoor one as stated in the industry sector-specific guidelines released by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. Businesses allowed to begin to reopen include museums and zoos for outdoors only, along with outdoor seating for restaurants, offices and retail stores.
Some museums are still offering services and activities on their websites and encouraging people to check their out the websites or call for opening updates.
The indoor museums are still waiting for a reopen date and are not sure when that will be.
