BRISTOL - The New England Carousel Museum is hosting a Holiday Harp Concert in light of the upcoming holiday season.

The event is part of the Museum After Hours series that highlights presentat- ions, exhibition openings, artist talks and workshops on the first Thursday of each month in 2017, explained Morgan Urgo, museum manager.

The concert will feature harpist Cate Mahoney, who will be “bringing her crew to play holiday music,” Urgo said. “It will be an interactive experience.”

She added that there will be an introduction to the harp and harp music and the opportunity to ask the musician questions.

The concert is slated for Dec. 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Urgo explained that attendees will enjoy a reception with wine and cheese and the opportunity to visit the museum’s galleries in the first half hour.

At 6:30 p.m., the performance will begin in the main gallery.

Museum After Hours will be on hiatus during January and February while the museum is on a limited winter schedule, but will resume in March.

Admis-sion to the series is included with general admission and includes access to the museum. Museum members can attend for free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or prior to the event.

The museum is located at 95 Riverside Ave. For more information, call the museum at 860-585-5411 or visit its website at thecarouselmuseum.org.
